Building A Better Rope Climb
Building strength is one of the keys to developing successful gymnastics. We have found that one of the most successful strengthening tools has been rope climbs.
Rope climbs build a variety of muscle groups that are imperative for strong gymnastics. Engagement of the hands, arms, back, abs, and legs helps build some of the most important gymnastics motions utilized for bars. When developing and mastering skills on bars, gymnasts need to able to pull,swing, and hold their own body weight. Without the necessary strength to do this, bars can oftentimes be a difficult event to master.
So while most gymnasts enjoy having the opportunity to swing and climb as high as they can on the rope, how as a coach, do you build the essential building blocks of a rope climb? Today, we are going to break it down for you!
